When Everything Feels a Bit Uncertain… Our Homes Start to Matter More……..
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about home.
Not just from a design perspective, but from a real-life perspective.
The cost of living has gone up not to mention the petrol crisis
There’s a lot happening in the world. Like a war!
And for many of us, there’s this underlying feeling of needing to be more careful — with money, with decisions, with what we commit to.
I feel it too.
And I know I’m not alone in that.
What I’ve noticed is that when things feel uncertain, people don’t stop caring about their homes…
but they do pause.
They hold off on big decisions.
They put renovations on hold.
They second guess spending.
And it makes sense.
Because creating a home you love shouldn’t feel like a financial risk.
But at the same time, our homes are the one place we come back to every single day.
It’s where life happens.
It’s where we rest, gather, and try to find some sense of calm in the middle of everything else.
I think one of the biggest challenges right now is that people don’t want to get it wrong.
And I understand that completely.
Furniture is expensive.
Changes take time.
And even small decisions can feel like a big commitment.
So instead of moving forward, it’s easier to wait.
So, let’s shift into the idea that you don’t need to do everything at once.
You don’t need a full renovation.
You don’t need a big, overwhelming plan and massive budget.
Sometimes you just need a little bit of simplicity.
A simple layout that works.
A clearer direction.
A way to see how things could come together before you make any decisions.
That’s where I’ve been focusing more of my work — on simple, practical ways to help.
Things like single room plans, 3D designs, and refresh ideas that work with what you already have.
Not big, complicated projects…
just thoughtful, manageable steps forward.
Because when things feel uncertain, the last thing you need is more overwhelm.
If anything, this is the time for homes to feel easier.
Calmer.
More supportive of the life you’re living right now. Our homes are our safe place.
If you’ve been feeling a bit stuck with your space, you’re definitely not alone.
And you don’t have to solve everything at once.
Sometimes it’s just about taking one small step — and letting that lead the way.
Much Love
